In the Winter Semester 2018-19 the students of Artistic Practice II, From Performance to Video and Then Back Again: How to Explain Pictures to a Dead Hare, looked to performance art and ways in which to transpose works into another medium such as video or photography. Taking cues from seminal moments in the history of performance art and performance artists such as Yoko Ono, Joseph Beuys, Andrea Fraser, Francis Alÿs, Adrian Piper, Santiago Sierra, Braco Dimitrijević and others, the students began to transfigure their views and attitudes into forms. Bringing the works out of the context of history and art institutions into the contemporary conditions of the city, an array of students’ propositions was developed further within the framework of the exhibition: From Performance to Video and Then Back Again. The exhibition making process was the scope of students of the course Art and the Social: City and the City.
